Jennette McCurdy wants her "Sam and Cat" show's ex-co-star Ariana Grande to read her new memoir, 'I’m Glad My Mom Died'. The title of her memoir ‘I’m Glad My Mom Died" comes off a little strong, while Jennette mentions that she is genuinely glad. If her mother would have been alive, she would still be trapped and every important decision in her life wouldn’t have been possible.

"I'm not sure if Ariana will even read my new book or not, but she says it will be an entertaining read for all audience," Jennette McCurdy said.

The actor reveals that she had a complicated relationship with her mother. She was put on a diet, which led to an eating disorder. Other than that, there were several personal issues. She wished to leave the entertainment industry post her mother’s death.

Jennette mentions that growing up in the public eye was quite difficult as one’s reality becomes invalidated and goes unacknowledged. But in the present, when she sees herself for who she is, she can accept being seen by others.

In her memoir, she reveals her bad experiences while working on "Sam and Cat." She admits to being envious of Ariana. Her main reason for concern was that she had to turn down movies due to the show while Ariana was written out of episodes to be able to focus on her singing career and attend the Billboard Music Awards.

She says Nickelodeon didn’t treat them both equally. In a few episodes, Jennette was made to play with a box, pretending Ariana was trapped inside it.

The "iClary" star was applauded for being a good sport, but the entire incident made her resent that. Every time someone called her a good sport, the more she felt like not being one. She mentioned that she was pissed about it because if she wasn’t a good sport to begin with, she wouldn’t be on the sh*y show and her life would be entirely different. It broke her when Ariana got to attend a glam soiree at Tom Hanks’ house while she was stuck on the sh* set, speaking sh** lines in a sh** hairstyle. It broke her and she couldn’t take it anymore. She fantasised about her life being different, but it wasn’t.

The memoir is her journey to healing, an attempt to work through her trauma due to her time in the spotlight.
