Dolly Parton has thanked Amazon founder Jeff Bezos for the Courage and Civility award and was paid $100 million, to which she said she would do good things. Dolly Parton is known to have put her money where her heart is and has funded many charities worldwide. Jeff Bezos acknowledged her donations to various books for children, world literacy, he posted a video on social media announcing the award to Parton.
Dolly Parton, apart from giving books to children, has also supported Moderna's vaccination through a donation of $1 million to Vanderbilt University Medical Centre for coronavirus research. Dolly Parton has had twenty-five songs reach the No.1 in the US.
Jeff Bezos, the owner of Amazon, has also donated to chef Jose Andres of World Central Kitchen and Van Jones of Dream.Org.
Bezos has awarded $200 million to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum and $10 billion for climate change, for which he is a major advocate through his charity Earth Fund. The 58-year-old business tycoon has become even more philanthropic since stepping down as Amazon CEO.
