Speaking in a recent interview, Vance drew a clear line over what he will tolerate. His message to critics was short, sharp, and unmistakable.

What did JD Vance say about the attacks on his wife Usha Vance?

Vice President JD Vance forcefully defended his wife, Usha Vance, after racist attacks from white supremacist Nick Fuentes and disparaging remarks from MSNBC host Jen Psaki. In an interview with UnHerd published Sunday, he responded directly to critics across the political spectrum, as per a report by the New York Post.

“Let me be clear. Anyone who attacks my wife, whether their name is Jen Psaki or Nick Fuentes, can eat s–t," Vance said.

“That’s my official policy as vice president of the United States.”

Why did Nick Fuentes target Usha Vance?

Nick Fuentes, a 27-year-old far-right white supremacist and Holocaust denier, lashed out at Vance after he was selected as President Trump’s running mate. Fuentes labeled Vance a “race traitor” for marrying Usha Vance, the daughter of Indian immigrants, and repeatedly used racist language to describe her.

“Who is this guy, really? Do we really expect that the guy who has an Indian wife and named their kid Vivek is going to support white identity?” Fuentes said following the announcement of Vance’s nomination.

The comments placed Fuentes at the center of renewed criticism over extremist rhetoric targeting public figures and their families, as per a report by the New York Post.

What did Jen Psaki say?

Vance also referenced comments made by former Biden press secretary and MSNBC host Jen Psaki. In October, Psaki suggested that Usha Vance needed to be “rescued” from her husband.

“I always wonder what’s going on in the mind of [Vance’s] wife. Like, are you OK? Please blink four times. Come over here. We’ll save you,” Psaki said during an appearance on the “I’ve Had It” podcast.

Vance grouped the remarks with Fuentes’ attacks, describing both as unacceptable.

How did JD Vance address racism inside his own party?

During the same interview, Vance made clear that antisemitism and racial hatred have no place in conservatism.

“Antisemitism and all forms of ethnic hatred have no place in the conservative movement,” he said. “Whether you’re attacking somebody because they’re white or because they’re black or because they’re Jewish, I think it’s disgusting.”

His comments came just hours after he appeared at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest, where he criticized conservatives who publicly attack others within their own ranks.

“President Trump did not build the greatest coalition in politics by running his supporters through endless, self-defeated purity tests,” Vance said.

“I didn’t bring a list of conservatives to denounce or to deplatform.”

He added, “Let me just say the best way to honor [assassinated Turning Point co-founder] Charlie [Kirk] is that none of us here should be doing something after Charlie’s death that he himself refused to do in life.”

The remarks appeared to reference ongoing tensions within conservative media, including criticism from Ben Shapiro aimed at Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson, as per a report by the New York Post.
