Jayland Walker dies in a volley of bullets by Ohio police due to a traffic violation

The police in Ohio just committed a grave offense and if proved in court they are in big trouble. The 4th of July celebrations have taken a back seat for the residents of Ohio as they woke up to the most gruesome news on television. The city of Akron in Ohio broadcasted the media briefing of their Police Chief Steve Mylett, wherein it was stated that Jayland Walker was unarmed at the time he was gunned down in the most horrific manner by the police. The young man was shot mutiple times moments after he got down from his vehicle, and started running away from a police chase. The police chief has released the body cam video as what was recorded, for the general public to view and reach its conclusions. It is estimated around 90 bullets were fired by a group of 8 officers, while another 5 witnessed the scene. They were on a chase after a blue car violated a traffic signal with the traffic police on hot pursuit. The chief said that the officers felt the suspect was armed as they had seen a shining object in his hand and immediately gunned the suspect down when the latter abandoned his car and began running away. The suspect however left his weapon behind in the car and at the time of death, he was unarmed.

This has created a lot of anger among residents and people were in great numbers demanding justice for Jayland Walker, reminiscent of the "Black Lives Matter" protests. Jayland Walker's family is as shocked as can be as their son was not under any stress or a frame of mind that could make him want to confront the police. Jayland did lose his girlfriend lately and was sad but he was not behaving in an angry manner whatsoever to get into a situation he was subjected to.

The people in the city of Akron are equally disturbed by the shooting of a fellow resident, and who happened to be black. People are commenting and angry that many a white person who violates traffic rules are still alive, but because Jayland was black he was brutally murdered.


Many protestors did show up outside the courthouse on Saturday and police had to use force to calm matters down. The protestors are demanding justice and will stay on demanding it. In the meantime, Steve Mylett has requested calm and patience so that justice is delivered peacefully. The young Jayland Walker was just 25 years old.
