After a long gap of months, the 9th congressional committee would deliberate on the attack on the Capitol and the overturning of 2020 election results by former US President Donald Trump scheduled on Wednesday. The hearing is scheduled almost six weeks before the critical mid-term elections. After the 9th hearing, the committee will release a report highlighting its findings.

In the last eight hearings, the attack on the Capitol was indeed violent. It was also found that for 187 minutes, Trump failed to act upon the attack or issue any statement. Trump had also incited his supporters to attack Vice President Mike Pence. Additionally, it was found that Republican lawmakers advised Trump in Arizona to overturn the election. Despite knowing that Trump had lost elections, he tried to raise money from campaign donors to oppose the results.
