Jamin Pugh, a professional wrestler who used the ring name Jay Briscoe for 20 years while competing in the Ring of Honor, has passed away at the age of 38. The news of Briscoe's demise was announced through Twitter on Tuesday by Tony Khan, the CEO, and owner of All Elite Wrestling, who acquired Ring of Honor Wrestling in March 2022. "Jamin Pugh has sadly passed away. He was a star in ROH for nearly 20 years, from the first show to the present, and is known to fans as Jay Briscoe,"

Khan wrote. "Even now, Jay and his brother Mark are still the undisputed ROH champs. We'll do whatever we can to support his family." With his brother Mark, he formed the popular tag team known as "The Briscoe Brothers" in 2002. Briscoe, who was 18 at the time, and Mark, who was 17, had been competing since the company's first-ever show.

Phogat's dream of a medal in her first Olympics was cruelly cut short in 2016 when she hurt her ankle during her quarter-final bout against a Chinese opponent and left the mat in tears.

"I now have the experience of playing one Olympics. I know what to expect, how to prepare and how to conduct myself," the 26-year-old told the Times of India newspaper on Saturday.

She has been training under Hungarian coach Woller Akos since 2018 and the partnership had worked wonders for her, said the Commonwealth and Asian Games champion.

"People won't understand from outside but earlier my game had technical flaws.

"I can see that now I'm smoother and display clean wrestling on the mat. I don't feel stuck on the match anymore. There is motion in my game."

As for motivation, Phogat said she never forgot her pain in Rio.

"...every time I go on the mat for a match, that injury motivates me," said the wrestler from Haryana.

"It was one of the lowest points of my career. There was a lot of negativity from within.

"But I was able to come out of it and in hindsight, it has helped me become mentally strong."

The Briscoe Brothers are thought to be the greatest tag team in ROH history. They held the ROH World Tag Team Championship belt 13 times for a total of 1,413 days. They recently won the tag team championship in a Double Dog Collar match against FTR's Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood.
