James Earl Jones to assist in creating AI voice for Star Wars' Darth Vader. More details inside
James Earl Jones was impressed by the recreation of his voice for Darth Vader in Obi-Wan Kenobi. The legendary artist has finally stepped back from giving his voice to the iconic Star Wars character Darth Vader.

James Earl Jones has been the voice of Darth Vader for 40 years. There were reports of the artist willing to wrap up the character voicing, after which the Lucasfilm technicians started exploring options for Darth Vader's future. The studio has decided to take assistance from Ukrainian startup, Reespeecher, which specializes in utilizing old voice recordings to create new conversations using AI.
Reespeecher and Lucasfilm initially teamed up for the Disney+ series, The Book of Boba Fett, to recreate the voice of young Luke Skywalker.
Subsequently, the two organizations also teamed up to recreate the voice of Darth Vader for the series Obi-Wan Kenobi, which debuted earlier this year. However, for the last recreation, Reespeecher tasked a young Ukrainian voice artist, Bogdan Belyaev, to record for the character, a move that was jeopardized following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Apart from Darth Vader, James has also given his voice to many characters. Some of them are Ommadon (The Flight of Dragons), Emperor of the Night (Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night), Mufasa (Lion King), and Martin Luther King, Sr (Our Friend Martin).
