However, his outing ended abruptly, while fielding a bunt in the sixth inning, when his foot landed awkwardly. The Brewers announced later that Misiorowski left with right calf and quad cramping.
Misiorowski (1-0) dazzled in his debut as he lit up the radar gun, hitting 102.2 mph and striking out seven. He ended his outing by fanning Pedro Pages with a 101.1 mph heater.
The Brewers broke the game open with a five-run fifth inning off Sonny Gray (7-2), highlighted by Sal Frelick’s two-run single and Jackson Chourio’s two-run homer.
Frelick went 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Gray, previously unbeaten in six starts, gave up six runs on eight hits in 4 1/3 innings. Aaron Ashby secured the final nine outs for a three-inning save.
