It will take the spotlight on Saturday, September 9, at the Sala Grande of the Palazzo del Cinema at the Lido di Venezia. This screening will follow the presentation of awards at the festival.

The film delves into the harrowing true story of Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571, which encountered a tragic accident in 1972 while carrying a rugby team to Chile. The screenplay, co-written by J.A. Bayona, Bernat Vilaplana, Jaime Marques and Nicolás Casariego, is based on the novel by Pablo Vierci. Netflix will handle the international distribution of the film.

The Spanish filmmaker, J.A. Bayona, made his impressive directorial debut with "The Orphanage" at the Cannes Film Festival in 2007, receiving accolades and seven Goya Awards.
