It's Official! True Detective Season 4 casts Kali Reis, Professional boxing champ as Jodie Foster's Co-lead
Professional boxing champ and human rights advocate Kali Reis has secured a role in the crime thriller series, “True Detective” alongside Jodie Foster.

True Detective is an American anthology crime television series that has been written and created by Nic Pizzolatto. The first season of the series was earlier premiered on January 12th in the year 2014 and was broadcasted by the premium cable network, HBO. The official synopsis from HBO reads, “When the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska, the six men that operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace. To solve the case, Detectives Liz Danvers (played by Jodie Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (played by Kali Reis) will have to confront the darkness they carry within themselves and dig into the scary truths that lie buried under the eternal ice.
Reis, who is a World Boxing Association (WBA) and World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior welterweight champion, made her debut in Hollywood with the indie film ‘Catch the fair one’ which earned her a special Jury mention for best actress at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2021. Her remarkable performance in the movie caught the eye of the producers of “True Detective.”
Reis is not only the world’s first indigenous boxing American boxing female champion but also a leading advocate for human rights. She is a motivational speaker and supports the ‘Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls movement.’ Apart from that, she helps teach young girls and women to fight against the discrimination of Native youths, both physically and verbally.
Reis will be seen next in the Hollywood film, ‘Black Flies’ in which she stars opposite Sean Penn and The Sheridan.
