It's Official! Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 gets Google Assistant Support

One of the latest updates for smartwatch users is the Wear OS 3.0. It is the top and the latest edition of the smartwatch OS. The Google Assistant feature for the Wear OS 3 update is readily available for download at the Google Play Store. Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 users can now launch and access Google Assistant from their device.

It can also be downloaded from the Watch 4 Classic's App menu. Users will be able to use natural voice commands, faster access, quick solutions to questions, and also rearrange the watch's home button as a shortcut icon. Samsung confirmed the news in a press release.

Google revealed the first official look in February. Earlier, Google and Samsung promised a Wear OS 3 with an option for multiple apps. However, Samsung launched the Galaxy Watch 4 with only Bixby as a digital assistant. But now, the wait is finally over for the Watch 4 users who have been waiting for this update. Samsung's earlier release of the Tizen-based smartwatch only had the Bixby as an assistant.


Earlier, it was mistaken that the Google Assistant support is already present in an update log, but it was not. Samsung also released a teaser on YouTube displaying the Google Assistant app support in Galaxy Watch 4. After the Google I/O event this month, Samsung officially marked that the Assistant was ready to arrive 'This summer'.

The Google I/O event had a pack of a few more surprises like, the upcoming Pixel Watch will have better and plenty of Google Services for users to access.

As of now, Galaxy Watch 4 users in ten markets namely, Canada, Australia, France, Ireland, Germany, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, USA and UK will be able to download and access Google Assistant from their wrists. However, users in India currently do not have access to the updated feature. Samsung has validated that the Assistant on Galaxy Watch 4 will have support for twelve languages.
