It would be an honor for Zac Efron to play Matthew Perry in a biopic

Zac Efron talked about his incredible experience working with the late actor on the movie 17 Again, and how he would be "honored" to play Matthew Perry in a biopic.

On Wednesday, November 8, the 36-year-old actor of The Greatest Showman told People, "He was a mentor to me and we made a really cool film. I was inspired by him. From that guy, I acquired comedic timing. That is, back when we were shooting 17 I've learnt so much from him during his entire life, so it was quite strange for me to glance across and see him there once more.

Efron expressed his gratitude to hear that he considered me for the role, saying he was "devastated" when he heard of Perry's passing. Let's see. To accomplish that would be an honor.


At the age of 54, Perry drowned in his jacuzzi at his Pacific Palisades residence. His portrayal as Chandler Bing on Friends, which ran from 1994 to 2004, helped him become a Hollywood celebrity.
