Israel Hamas Conflict: Scream VII fires Melissa Barrera after calling the war 'Genocide'
Mexican actress Melissa Barrera has been axed from her next 'Scream' film over her social media comments about the Israel-Hamas war.The actress will no longer appear in the horror franchise's upcoming seventh film.

The actress aged 33 years will no longer appear in the horror franchise's upcoming seventh film. The production house, Spyglass issued a statement on their stance in the matter.
“Spyglass’ stance is unequivocally clear: We have zero tolerance for antisemitism or the incitement of hate in any form, including false references to genocide, ethnic cleansing, Holocaust distortion or anything that flagrantly crosses the line into hate speech," said the production house on Melissa Barrera's comments on the war.
Christopher Landon who is the Scream VII director also took to 'X' to comment on the recent firing.
'
"This is my statement: Everything sucks. Stop yelling. This was not my decision to make,” said Landon. But the director has deleted his post on the social media platform afterwards.
Commenting on the recent conflict that has been escalating since October 7, the actor posted her views about the issue on social media platform 'Instagram.'
Melissa played Sam Carpenter, the older sibling of Jenna Ortega's Tara Carpenter, in 2022's Scream and Scream VI. She also helped the franchise with her role and movies. Scream VI earned $108 million at the domestic box office, as well as $60 million in international territories.
Over 12,000 people have been killed in the war.
