PlayStation network still down? Users report server, social, and login problems

PlayStation Network experienced widespread outages for thousands of users across the United States on Tuesday evening. According to DownDetector, a platform that tracks service disruptions based on user reports, thousands of people initially reported issues with Sony’s gaming platform.

By 10:10 pm ET, the number of reports had surged to more than 10,000. By 11:15 pm, reports had dropped slightly below 1,000. Of those affected, approximately 78 per cent experienced server connection issues, 17 per cent faced problems with social features, and 6 per cent encountered login difficulties.

PlayStation down and its reactions

As of 11:15 ET, users on Downdetector continued reporting problems with PlayStation services, including difficulties connecting online, accessing friends lists, and playing games. Many expressed frustration and confusion over the repeated outages, with some jokingly questioning the point of daily routines while stuck offline. However playstation hasn't commented on the issue of why its network was down.

Comments from affected users highlighted the ongoing issues: Dingus McGoober wrote, “Is it even worth it? Is it even worth it to wake up, eat, go to work, eat, sleep, repeat, for the rest of our lives?” Logan Dunlap (Punk) said, “Like, I want to play with my friend on GTA but no. PlayStation has another problem — it’s working for them but not for me.”

Others noted ongoing glitches, including MsLadyRayne, who said, “Mine says I’m online again but still can’t get to friends list,” and Wrench, who added, “It’s doing the same glitch it was a few months ago.” Users are waiting for updates as PlayStation continues to address the outage.
