On October 30, the group first issued a statement regarding Matthew's passing. The demise of Matthew has upset and shocked us all so much. We six were not just co-stars on the show. Two days after Matthew passed away, a sorrowful letter was read: "We are a family." We're going to take a moment to grieve and digest this unbelievable loss since there is so much to say. The co-stars continued by saying that when they were ready, they would "say more."
On November 14, Matt became the first former cast member of Friends to break his silence on Instagram. Matthew, I say farewell with a heavy heart. He captioned the photo by saying it was an honor for me to share a stage with you and call you one of my closest friends.
