Is September a preferred month for divorce? Here’s why it could be true
Like the month of January has couple stressed after the Christmas and New Year holidays, the month of September also experiences a rise in divorce enquiries post the summer holidays.

The summer holidays mean different things for different families. The Stowe Family observes that some couples cannot take the extra time spent together in the holidays or on vacations with kids and family.
Add to that are the additional expenses in the holidays or the expenditure on summer vacations and activities. This leads to stress and couples start thinking of options, even though they may not be serious about it.
Expenses make couples stay in a marriage
The general expenses to maintain a life and other factors like high rates of interest and mortgage rates, leads to even warring couples staying put and not thinking of divorce.
September akin to January for divorces
Not just the month of September every year, but also the first month of the year, January, has a couple experiencing the pangs. Stowe Family says that the media even has a term for it – Divorce Day – which is the first working Monday of the New Year.
Strangely, after a night of partying or staying at home on New Year’s Eve, the New Year’s Day brings in new realizations to married couples in the UK. Stowe Family says divorce enquiries rise during this time due to the stress of Christmas and New Year holidays and the expenditure.
