Last week, rumors surfaced about a potential romance between musician Zayn Malik and singer-cum-actor Selena Gomez after they were reportedly spotted on a date in New York City. The speculation began when a TikTok user, @klarissa.mpeg, uploaded a now-viral video claiming to work as a hostess at a New York City restaurant where her friend had allegedly seen Malik and Gomez. Screenshots of WhatsApp messages were shared in the video, claiming that the two were seen walking hand in hand and even making out. The name of the restaurant was blurred out, but the rumors continue to spread across social media platforms.

An anonymous blogger expressed surprise, stating that they believed Malik was staying in Pennsylvania. However, an eyewitness source confirmed that the pair had been spotted out in SoHo in New York City, walking hand in hand and kissing. Despite this, representatives for Malik and Gomez have not yet commented on the rumors.

This isn't the first time that the two have been linked romantically, with a follower of the Instagram account DeuxMoi referencing a past tweet from Gomez's ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber. In the tweet, Bieber seemingly accused Gomez of cheating on him with Malik. During one of their on-and-off periods in 2016, Gomez reportedly accused Bieber of cheating multiple times, to which Bieber responded with the cryptic comment: "I cheated.. oh I forgot about you and Zayn?"

At the time of accusations of Justin Bieber, Malik was in a relationship with supermodel Gigi Hadid. Malik shares a two-year-old daughter named Khai with Hadid. Despite ending their romantic relationship in 2021, the former couple appears to still have a friendly relationship. According to a source who spoke to US Weekly, Hadid is not bothered by the rumors surrounding Malik's potential romance with Selena Gomez, as long as he remains a stable and supportive co-parent to their child. "She's fine with whoever he goes out with, as long as he's happy and continues to be a good dad to Khai," the insider stated.
