More than 11,000 Netflix users reported issues with the streaming service across the United States on Tuesday (August 26, 2025). The latest data available on the DownDetector website stated that there were 11,868 reports of Netflix being down. According to FOX5 New York, the reports started surfacing at around 6:15 p.m. ET. As of 9:30 p.m., some users have reported that it has come back up for them, but it's not completely functioning. Netflix was not immediately available for comment on the latest situation.



The company has not posted any updates on its social media pages or website as of 9:30 p.m. ET. The online video streaming platform has more than 300 million paid subscriptions in 190 countries, according to its website. The video streaming platform offers a wide variety of award-winning TV shows, movies, anime, documentaries, and more on thousands of internet-connected devices.


The latest outage issue with Netflix comes almost three months after more than 70,000 individual complaints were reported across America in May 2025. Back then, affected users attempting to access content received a “title not available to watch instantly” message across multiple devices. During the May widespread outage, DownDetector website began logging reports shortly before 9:40 p.m. EDT. By that time, the platform had received over 75,000 individual complaints. The issue was widespread, affecting users across various states and device types.

In May 2025, reactions flooded social media platforms amid the massive outage. Several users on X had expressed frustration and confusion over the disruption. Multiple posts surfaced that cited interruptions during viewing, with some users claiming that the error impacted all devices at the same time.
