Trump as superman? White House AI post sparks backlash over Epstein files and global tensions
After threatening and imposing massive tariffs on almost every country in the world, boasting of stopping multiple wars and bombing at least one sovereign nation, US President Donald Trump is donning a new role or at least a new costume. The most powerful man in the world now seems to aspire for supernational powers with the White House posting an AI-generated image on July 11 of President Trump dressed as Superman, the American superhero from the rumoured planet Krypton.

The Trump meme by the White House is captioned “The symbol of hope. Truth. Justice. The American way. Superman Trump.” The image, shared on the official X (formerly Twitter) account, immediately drew criticism across social media, with many users questioning the timing and appropriateness of the post.

The post coincided with the release of Superman, the new film by director James Gunn.

The image quickly went viral but triggered intense backlash from users and critics who brought up the unresolved controversy surrounding the late Jeffrey Epstein’s client list.

“Truth? Where is the Epstein list? Justice? Where is justice for the victims?” one user wrote. Another added, “If he believed in justice, the Epstein files would be public by now.”

The criticism intensified after SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, who recently launched the America Party, said his political movement would make exposing the Epstein network a top priority.

Earlier this week, the Department of Justice said there was no comprehensive “client list” in the Epstein investigation. The DOJ and FBI reiterated that Epstein died by suicide in jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

This isn’t the first time Trump or his team has used AI-generated images. In May, Trump shared an image of himself as the Pope, which he later dismissed as “just a joke.”

The White House has not responded to requests for comment on the Superman post.
