Ironheart season 2 update: Here’s what Dominique Thorne says

Fans hoping to see more of Riri Williams in action may have to wait longer, as Marvel has yet to confirm a second season of Ironheart. The Disney+ series, which spun off from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, introduced the young inventor-hero played by Dominique Thorne.

While Thorne has expressed interest in continuing the character's journey, she says there are no updates on Season 2.

In an interview with The Direct, Thorne said she has no information about Season 2.


Although there are no updates on a second season from Marvel Studios, Thorne hinted that Riri Williams might return in other Marvel titles. She named Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars as possible projects.

She said she would be interested in continuing Riri’s story if given the chance.

Thorne discussed how Riri’s journey in Season 1 expanded her worldview and suggested that if the show continues, Riri could explore new paths.

“Her mind is open about what exists in the world,” Thorne said. “There’s a lot more going on than she ever cared to know or to understand.”

She added that seeing Riri commit to an unexpected path would be exciting. “What does it look like for her to lean into the total left-field option? I think that would be pretty cool.”

While Dominique Thorne is hopeful about exploring Riri’s future, there is no official update from Marvel on a second season. For now, fans can revisit Ironheart on Disney+ and wait for further news.

If finalized, Ironheart season 2 will likely bring back Dominique Thorne, Jaren Merrell, Anthony Ramos, Lyric Ross, Matthew Elam, and Zoe Terakes.

They may also introduce new characters based on Riri’s ever-evolving storyline, especially if her arc continues into Avengers: Secret Wars or Doomsday.
