The foldable phones market has gained significant momentum in recent times, with many tech companies launching back-to-back smartphones, with all the latest updates and specifications. Amid high expectations from fans, Apple is expected to introduce its maiden foldable iPhone soon in the global market.

Foldable iPhone price: What to expect?

In a post on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, the rumor from the leakster suggests that the foldable iPhones may cost anywhere between $2,100 and $2,300 at the time of release.


"Based on the iPhone's profit margin, the iPhone foldable screen is estimated to start at between $2,100 and $2,300, not much more expensive than Samsung," read the post.

This is significantly higher in comparison with other foldable smartphones that are already available in the market, including the popular Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6.

The sixth series handset from the tech giant is available at $1,899 for the lower variant, while the 1TB version costs $2,259, Tom's Guide reported.

Among other popular options out there are Oppo Find N5 for roughly $1,800 and OnePlus Open at $1,699.

The report suggests that the Cupertino giant will have to "pull out some impressive hardware" if at all the company is planning to sell its first ever foldable smartphones in that price range.

1. Screen

As far as the screen of the expected foldable iPhone is concerned, several reports have suggested varied screen sizes for the handset.

In March this year, it was stated that the foldable iPhone might come with a 7.8-inch primary display as well as the 5.5-inch cover display when folded. Keeping this in mind, it makes it quite similar to OnePlus Open, which remains available at a cheaper rate.

Also, there have been rumors indicating that the foldable iPhone could boast a 7.74-inch inner display and a 5.49-inch outer display -- making it look close enough to the Oppo Find N5.

Additionally, some have even claimed it to have a 12-inch screen when unfolded, which seems like an impractical idea.
