Intoxicated bear cub rescued by locals in Turkey

The Duzce province in northwestern Turkey witnessed an uncommon event this Thursday. A brown bear cub was found quite disoriented by the locals. People, who found her, claimed she was intoxicated due to eating high amounts of "mad honey".

Reuters reported that "mad honey" is also known as 'deli bal' in Turkish. It has hallucinogenic effects on the consumer. It is a type of rhododendron honey. Our brown bear cub managed to consume high amounts of it since she obviously could not distinguish it from the regular honey.

The locals rescued this brown bear cub from the forest and loaded it into the back of a pick-up truck. Footage showed that she was winning and wobbling with her belly up in the air as she suffered from the intoxication.




They took the rescued brown bear for treatment at a nearby vet. The vet is providing her with the proper and necessary treatment. The vet suggested that the brown bear cub be released into the forest once she completely recovered from the effects of the intoxication. The local authorities told the press that she (the rescued bear) is now in good condition, and the Turks need not worry about her health and safety.

The Turkish Ministry of Agriculture got an air of this incident and was amazed. They asked the Turks to come up with a name for this brown bear intoxicated with mad honey on Twitter. Turks went crazy on the request, and Twitter is blasted with name suggestions for the bear.
