Caitlin Clark injury update impacts Indiana Fever lineup
The Indiana Fever will compete without standout rookie Caitlin Clark for the first time this WNBA season due to a left quad strain. Clark is expected to be sidelined for at least two weeks. The same injury had previously kept her out of a preseason game, also against the Washington Mystics.In Clark’s absence, Aliyah Boston is expected to take on a larger offensive role. Boston enters the game averaging 18.5 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. She is also tied with teammate Kelsey Mitchell for the second-most assists on the team, each averaging 2.3 per contest. Mitchell, typically an off-ball guard, may be asked to contribute more in the playmaking department while Clark recovers.

Veteran Sydney Colson will start at point guard, and Sophie Cunningham is also anticipated to see minutes in that position. Head coach Stephanie White noted that the Fever’s offensive schemes will look different without Clark directing the floor.
The Fever have struggled this season and will look to adjust their rotation in Clark’s absence as they aim to remain competitive in the Eastern Conference.
Washington Mystics seek to end losing streak
The Washington Mystics will look to end a three-game losing streak when they host the Indiana Fever. Despite a strong 2–0 start to the season, the Mystics have dropped three consecutive games, though the margin of defeat has been narrow, just 11 points combined across the losses.The game will take place at CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore, a departure from the Mystics’ regular home venue, CareFirst Arena in Washington, D.C. The temporary venue offers a larger seating capacity of 14,000 compared to 4,200.
