Real estate can change dramatically over time, particularly when an older property is replaced with a completely new residence. One Pacific Palisades property has undergone that kind of transformation, moving from the longtime home of late actor and comedian Dom DeLuise to a newly built luxury residence now listed for $21 million.

Dom DeLuise Bought the Property in 1968

Dom DeLuise, popular for films such as The Cannonball Run and Blazing Saddles, bought the Pacific Palisades property in 1968 for $103,000.

The roughly third-acre property remained in his possession for decades. DeLuise lived at the estate until his death in 2009 at the age of 75.

The property remained connected to his family for several years before changing ownership for the first time in over half a century.

The Property Sold for Nearly $6.5 Million in 2021

In late 2021, the former DeLuise property was sold for around $6.5 million. As per The Real Deal, the buyer was an entity managed by Jeff Mironer of Provincetown Estates.

The sale came around 53 years after DeLuise had originally acquired the property for $103,000.

After acquiring the estate, the developer undertook a significant transformation. The older 1950s house was demolished, making way for a completely new residence.

A New $21 Million Mansion

The property has now been reimagined as a modern mansion and has appeared on the market for $21 million. Anthony Marguleas of Amalfi Estates holds the listing.

Completed this year, the new home spans over 10,000 square feet over three levels. It contains seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms, with an elevator providing access between the floors.

The interiors draw on European-inspired design, incorporating white oak flooring, high wood-beam ceilings and extensive glass that offers views toward the surrounding canyon scenery. The furnishings are also available for purchase.

Seven En-Suite Bedrooms

Each of the home's bedrooms has its own en-suite arrangement. One of the two bedrooms on the main level is currently being used as an office.

Four extra bedrooms are located upstairs, which includes the primary suite. The main suite features a fireplace, a separate sitting space with balcony access, two walk-in closets and a bathroom centered around a Hydro Systems soaking tub.

Another bedroom is located on the lower level. This floor also contains an entertainment and wellness-focused collection of spaces.

Movie Theater, Wine Room and Wellness Center

The lower level includes a recreation area equipped with a wet bar and a 21-seat movie theater. There is also a climate-controlled wine room.

A dedicated wellness center adds further amenities, including a gym, cold plunge, sauna, steam room and massage rooms.

From its purchase by Dom DeLuise in 1968 for $103,000 to its sale in late 2021 for nearly $6.5 million and its subsequent transformation into a $21 million residence, the Pacific Palisades property has undergone a substantial change. The original 1950s home has been replaced, while the site now features a large modern mansion with extensive indoor and outdoor amenities.
