Four students, all aged 21, of the University of Idaho were brutally murdered in November, sending down shock waves in the neighbourhood. The four bodies were found in their beds, which was supposedly where they were killed. The university remembered the deceased during the graduation ceremony conducted over the last weekend.
At the ceremony, the police warned the students that a mass killer was still at large and advised them to stay vigilant. University President C. Scott Green opened the winter commencement ceremony by paying the four students - Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, Ethan Chapin, and Kaylee Goncalves.
Addressing the hundreds of students and their family members who had gathered for the commencement, President Green acknowledged the loss of the “Vandal Family.” He said the four victims went too far due to a “senseless act of violence.”
Green added that the victims were cherished members of the community. Following the president’s speech, a moment of silence for observed for the murdered students.
Following the horrific incident, concerns were raised about law and order and the safety of students and staff in the area, especially because the mass murderer was still roaming free. Nonetheless, the commencement ceremony was conducted without any hiccups.

In the early hours of November 13, Madison, Xana, Ethan, and Kaylee were stabbed to death in the college town of Moscow, Idaho. They were found dead in their off-campus home on King Road, adjacent to the fraternity houses. All four of them returned home late in the night and were found dead in the morning.
Even after weeks of chilling mass murder, the police have not yet been able to track or arrest any suspect. There were rumours that said the four friends were involved in some kind of drug abuse or some kind of “passion things,” which Chapin’s mother categorically denied.
