Atlantic may likely suffer due to a tropical depression, the National Hurricane Center warned. As of now, the weather is just a “tropical wave” and it’s about 4,000 miles away from the East Coast of the US – Cabo Verbe Islands.

In the upcoming week, there are high chances (over 70 per cent) that this tropic wave will take a shift into a tropical depression, warned NHC. It also added that it could be worse than imagine and eventually turned into a tropical storm, followed by a full-on hurricane, as per National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

National Hurricane Center on Twitter posted about the probabilities of a potential hurricane. It writes, "We are still monitoring a tropical wave south of the Cabo Verde Islands. A tropical depression is now likely to form by the early to middle portion of next week as it moves westward across the tropical Atlantic.” It adds that 2-day genesis probability is 30 per cent, which may be low and 7-day genesis probability is 70 per cent, which is high.

What is a tropical wave?

It is elongated area of relatively low pressures that shifts from east to west across the tropics. To the east, there may be cloudiness and heavy rain, while, the west may see a good weather.

Moreover, a report by Reuters notes that a tropical depression is likely to occur by the early or middle of the week, while the system moves westward at 15-20 miles per hour across the eastern and central tropical Atlantic.
