Ian has reached Cuba, and the Category 3 hurricane maxed at sustained winds of 125 mph. Florida is seemingly the next destination, and the city of Venice is expected to witness the storm on Wednesday. However, the storm surge and high winds are still predicted to reach the Tampa region in the north. The National Hurricane Center sent a warning for a hurricane for a distance of 150 miles, and hundreds of thousands had to face mandatory evacuations.



Florida Power & Light said there could be a statewide power outage. There could also be 12 to 16 inches of rain, and up to 2 feet is possible in areas that remain isolated in Florida. Ron DeSantis, Florida Governor, said the storm could cause severe flooding. He said some areas would face catastrophic and life-threatening storm surges and flooding.
