Hunter Biden who got a recent unconditional pardon from US President Joe Biden is now eventually facing alleged accusations of owing over $300,000 in unpaid rent to former landlords, reported New York Post.

According to New York Post, Shaun Maguire who is a partner at Sequoia Capital has publicly claimed on social media that Hunter Biden owes his family a pretty significant back rent from the year 2019 to 2020. Shaun Maguire expressed his extreme frustration while questioning whether the pardon would cover these financial obligations.

Hunter Biden was actually facing federal charges which were related to tax evasion and lying on a firearm background check form. His father US President Joe Biden’s pardon which was signed back on December 2, 2024 actually applies to any federal crimes committed between January 1, 2014 and December 1, 2024, asserted New York Post.

In spite of that certain pardon protecting Hunter Biden from federal prosecution, it actually does not extend to civil matters such as unpaid rent.

Shaun Maguire eventually detailed that Hunter Biden was a tenant in Venice located in California where he allegedly did not pay rent for over a year and even attempted to compensate with art, noted New York Post. He also described about the difficulties faced in accessing the property due to Hunter Biden changing locks and eventually using Secret Service for enforcement.
