Hunter Biden to be prosecuted as federal authorities have evidence, say reports

According to a new report released, federal officials investigating American attorney Hunter Biden thought they have had enough evidence to prosecute him for tax violations as well as for lying about his drug problems so he could obtain a gun.

The final decision on whether to file charges against him will be made by Delaware US Attorney David Weiss.

According to reports, which cited people familiar with the inquiry, agents decided months ago that they had constructed a credible criminal case against Hunter Biden. The probe, which began with a focus on Hunter's foreign business connections exposed in a series of exposes by The Post in the autumn of 2020, has switched to whether he declared all of his revenue from foreign deals, according to the reports.


Hunter Biden himself said in December 2020 that his tax issues were being probed by federal officials in Delaware and that he was certain that a professional and impartial investigation of these concerns would show that he conducted his business lawfully and responsibly.



The investigation began in 2018 when authorities began looking into whether Hunter and his business colleagues broke different tax and money laundering rules while conducting business in China and other countries. Emails and other documents relating to the transactions were discovered on a laptop Hunter left at a Delaware repair shop in 2019 and never retrieved.
