Do you want to know how to delete your Gmail account? Well, here is the process to do so. You should first connect with your administrator if you use Gmail through your job, school, or another group.

It is advisable to download your data before deleting your account as you will no longer be able to send or receive an email through this address. If you change your mind later, you may be able to recover the Gmail account.

Here are the steps to be able to delete your Gmail account:

  • Open your account.
  • Click ‘Data & Privacy’ on the left.
  • Then scroll down and select 'Data from apps and services you use'.
  • Go to 'Download or delete your data' and select ‘Delete a Google service’.
  • Enter the password.
  • Click the trash can button next to ‘Gmail’.
  • Click ‘Send verification email’ after entering an existing email address that you want to sign in to Google services with. Here, you cannot use any other address of Gmail.
  • Then, open the email from Google and click on the link to delete the account.
  • When asked, click on 'Yes, I want to delete my Gmail account.'
  • Finally, click ‘Delete Gmail’ and then ‘Done’.
