Unlike many other events in Pokemon, Snom won’t be found in the wild during the Cozy Companions event, according to Gamespot.com. Instead, trainers can only obtain this chilly bug through 7km eggs and Field Research task rewards. That means you’ll need to hatch or grind tasks rather than explore to find it.
Catching Snom is only the first step - evolving it into Frosmoth is a bit more arduous. Beyond the usual Candy requirement, Snom must also have a high friendship level with you before it can evolve. That means you’ll need to assign it as your buddy, walk together, feed it berries, and battle alongside it to build up your bond.
If you’re hoping to add both Snom and Frosmoth to your Pokédex, be ready to invest some time. Here's how to catch Snom and evolve it into Frosmoth during this special event.
TWO-STEP GUIDE TO GRAB SNOM IN GO’S COZY COMPANIONS EVENT
There are mainly two ways to encounter Snom in Pokemon GO during the Cozy Companions event.
The first method is by hatching 7km eggs. Snom is among the pool of Pokemon that may hatch from these eggs while the event is active. Make sure to collect and incubate 7km eggs regularly as you play. Once the event concludes, Snom will shift to 5km eggs, giving you another shot at hatching it post-event.
The second - and more reliable - method is through Research tasks. By completing Timed Research during the event, you’ll unlock various rewards, including guaranteed encounters with Snom and other featured Pokemon. Since Egg hatches are random, pursuing Research tasks offers the most consistent way to get your hands on this icy Pokemon.
HOW TO EVOLVE SNOM INTO FROSMOTH IN GO’S COZY COMPANIONS EVENT
Catching Snom may be simple, but evolving it into Frosmoth requires more effort. First, you’ll need to set Snom as your buddy and earn 10 hearts by interacting with it. This includes feeding it a Poffin or berries, playing with it, taking snapshots, or walking together.
After reaching the heart requirement, you’ll then need 400 Snom Candy - and the evolution must take place at night. That’s a hefty cost, but there are ways to speed things up. Use Pinap Berries when catching Snom from Timed Research to double the candy earned. You can also convert Rare Candies into Snom Candy to help reach the total faster.
