Malcolm-Jamal Warner, beloved for his role as Theo Huxtable on The Cosby Show, tragically passed away on Sunday, July 20, at the age of 54 due to an accidental drowning while on vacation in Costa Rica.

According to a report by ABC, citing the Costa Rican National Police, the official cause of death for Warner was asphyxia. The actor passed away near Cocles, a beach in Limón, Costa Rica.

Police stated that he was caught in a strong current in the water and was discovered on Sunday afternoon. Costa Rica's national police have formally identified Warner.


As fans and the entertainment industry mourn his loss, many are also reflecting on the legacy he leaves behind, including the financial success he built through a multi-decade career in television, music, and directing.
