This week, the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) added 39 more names to its World Trade Center memorial wall in Brooklyn, as per an Fox 5 report. These were firefighters who died in the past year from illnesses linked to their rescue and recovery work after the attacks, according to the report.

An FDNY official said during Tuesday’s ceremony, "This year, we add 39 new names to our World Trade Center Memorial Wall," adding, "These losses continue to mount, and our heartbreak continues to grow. To the families here today, I say thank you for coming. Thank you for letting us support you," as quoted by Fox 5 report.
