It has been reported by the Associated Press that this feat was accomplished on May 12 at 7:25 am (local time).

It has also been reported that Sherpa Rita had climbed Mt Everest, twice last year.

Location of Mt Everest:

Locally, referred to as the Sagarmatha in Nepal and Chomolungma in the Tibet Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China, its peak is the highest above sea level, anywhere in the world. It is situated in between Nepal and China. It is located 8850 meters above sea level and is on the Greater Himalayan Ranges.


Sherpa Kami Rita

He has been climbing the Sagarmatha almost every year since 1994. Amongst the climbers, it is believed that the success of any climber is dependent on the guidance offered by Sherpa Kami Rita who is an expert mountaineer. His father was one among the earlier Sherpas who had specialized in scaling the Mt Everest.

Apart from the Mt Everest, Sherpa Kami Rita has also scaled the K2 (located in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir), Cho Oyu (located at the border between Nepal and Tibet Autonomous Region), Manaslu (Nepal) and Lhotse (located at the border between Nepal and Tibet Autonomous Region).

His close competitor Sherpa Pasang Dawa has also climbed the Mt Everest 27 times.
