Honest mistake! Family buys $10,000 gift cards for Disney tips, only to realize they're for Disney+

TikToker Andie Coston sought help in a video as her family's eagerly anticipated Disney trip faced jeopardy due to a realization – the grandparents accidentally purchased Disney+ gift cards instead of those meant for Disney parks.

In her TikTok post, she shared the family's backstory, revealing that the Disney vacation was initially planned for 2020 but was postponed due to the pandemic. Rescheduled for Christmas 2023, all 16 family members were set to go. To cut costs, Andie's parents bought $10,000 worth of Disney gift cards for tickets and reservations.

Upon returning home, Andie discovered issues loading the gift cards correctly for ticket purchases. To their dismay, the physical cards turned out to be for Disney+, the streaming service, not suitable for the theme park.


As the departure was in six days and Christmas bookings were filling up, Andie urgently sought assistance. The video quickly went viral, drawing thousands of sympathetic comments and shared anecdotes from viewers.

Andie clarified that the mix-up occurred because her parents were unfamiliar with streaming services and didn't realize the distinction.

Less than 24 hours after the initial TikTok, Disney intervened, converting the $10,000 Disney streaming gift cards into Disney Parks gift cards.

With the issue resolved, the family is now eagerly anticipating their long-awaited Disney trip, ready to create cherished memories together.
