The Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen have claimed previous drone and missile attacks on Israel, saying they act in support of Palestinians in Gaza. In most earlier attacks, Israel managed to intercept the drones or missiles, leading to little or no damage and no deaths, as per the report by Wion news.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed they tried to intercept the missile and immediately sent troops and police to Eilat after the strike. The IDF also said a helicopter was used for evacuations and warned residents to stay in shelters for 10 minutes after alerts.
