Houston is expected to experience breezy and muggy weather throughout Monday (November 24, 2025), as the city is likely to receive showers and thunderstorms, which began in the afternoon. A tornado watch is in place in the city till 7 PM. The National Weather Service stated that a tornado warning was issued for Harris, Montgomery, and Waller counties until 1:45 PM, Fox 26 reported.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely to continue throughout Monday


Houston, Texas, can expect a weather pattern on Monday, with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms developing through the afternoon. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), some of these storms could become severe, bringing the possibility of damaging winds, hail, or brief heavy rainfall.


Even with the storm chances, skies should remain partly sunny, and temperatures will rise to around 84°F. South winds of 10 to 15 mph may gust up to 20 mph. Rainfall totals during the day should stay under a tenth of an inch, though stronger thunderstorms could produce locally higher amounts.

The unsettled weather continues into Monday night, when showers and thunderstorms are likely, especially before 1 a.m. The NWS forecast claims that a few storms may again reach severe levels. Temperatures will fall to around 62°F, and south winds of 5 to 10 mph will become light and variable after midnight. Rainfall overnight will be more substantial, with ½ to ¾ of an inch possible before storms taper off.

Tornado Watch in several counties in Houston


A severe thunderstorm capable of creating a tornado was located near Cypress, moving northeast at 30 mph at around 1:09 PM, Fox 26 reported. The NWS also issued a tornado watch for several counties near the Houston area, including Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Fort Bend, Grimes, Harris, Houston, Liberty, Madison, Montgomery, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker, Waller, and Washington, according to Fox 26. The watch is in effect until 7 p.m.

Several cities are also included under this watch, including Bellville, Brenham, Brookshire, Bryan, Caldwell, Cleveland, Coldspring, College Station, Conroe, Corrigan, Crockett, Dayton, First Colony, Groveton, Hempstead, Houston, Huntsville, Liberty, Livingston, Madisonville, Mission Bend, Missouri City, Navasota, Pecan Grove, Prairie View, Rosenberg, Sealy, Shepherd, Somerville, Sugar Land, The Woodlands, Trinity, and Waller.
