'House of the Dragon' season 3 announced ahead of 'House of the Dragon' season 2 release date

House of the Dragon season 3 is all set to release soon as HBO has revealed ahead of the premier of the second season. In December 2023, "House of the Dragon" creator George R.R. Martin confirmed that third and fourth seasons were already in the pipeline.

"House of the Dragon" is based on George R.R. Martin's book. The narrative sets in the two-century before "Game of Thrones" and it talks about the story of "House Targaryen".

However, makers are yet to specify the number of episodes, production, and release date.

In season two of HBO's "House of the Dragon", the characters splinter off into different factions of Westeros. The crux is the Targaryen civil war for control of the Iron Throne. The eight-episode second series will plunge fans back into the mythical continent of Westeros, set almost two centuries before the events of "Game of Thrones".

The first series was a huge hit, attracting nearly 10 million viewers in the United States alone when its first episode aired in 2022, a record for an original series on HBO.
