Hours before midnight deadline, judge temporarily blocks Donald Trump's buyout offer to federal employees; here's what will happen now
Latest developments have reportedly revealed something extremely dramatic as a federal judge has ended up blocking the buyout offer to federal employees by US President Donald Trump that too just mere hour before the midnight deadline.

According to Associated Press, the US District Judge George O’Toole Jr. in Boston actually issued the ruling hours before the deadline for federal workers to apply for the ‘deferred resignation’ program while extending the deadline until a court hearing scheduled for Monday afternoon. It should be also noted that the decision of the judge actually came in response to a lawsuit filed by labor unions who placed an argument that the plan is unlawful and would result in a loss of expertise within the government.
The US President Donald Trump administration has reportedly and severely defended the program with White House Press Secretary Karoline Levitt stating that over 40,000 federal workers have applied to leave in exchange for being paid until the month of September 301, asserted Associated Press. The Donald Trump administration has also placed an argument that the program is an extremely ‘valuable, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity’ that will save taxpayer money and weaken the ‘deep state’.
However, during such times, the Democrats and union leaders issued a severe warning that the workers could be shortchanged as the program certainly lacks Congressional authorization. President of the American Federation of Government Employees Everett Kelley called the initiative a ‘scam’, noted Associated Press.
The US President Donald Trump administration has now also ramped up pressure on its employees while warning of potential layoffs or furloughs for those who remain and indicating that those who stay will be expected to be ‘loyal’.
