To the filmmaker's disappointment, its Cannes premiere and theatrical debut fell flat for a large-scale production, with just a little over $34 million in revenue.

Plot

Horizon: An American Saga follows the legacy of Warner Bros.'s classic Westerns, delving deeper into the majestic allure of the Old West and how it was attained and lost via the blood, sweat, and tears of countless multitudes. Costner's film journey, which spans the four years of the Civil War, from 1861 to 1865, transcends viewers across a nation at war with itself as seen through the eyes of friends, family, and foes who are all trying to contemplate what it means to be an American.

On Saturday, September 7, Chapter 2 will be screened at the Venice International Film Festival. Unexpectedly, Warner Bros. intended to release Chapter 2 on August 16, just two months after the theatrical debut of Chapter 1. However, the sequel's release has since been postponed indefinitely to give viewers ample time to watch Chapter 1 . Kevin Costner has stated that Horizon is a four-part project, with the third chapter currently in production, as per a report by Deadline.
