Honda to recall 2,95,000 vehicles in the US over software issue that could cause engine stalling
Honda is recalling 2,95,000 vehicles in the US due to a software issue that could lead to engine stalling. The affected models include select 2022-2025 Acura and Honda vehicles. To resolve the problem, owners will receive a free software update.

Honda stated in a news release that a fault in the fuel injection software could lead to problems such as the check engine light illuminating, the engine hesitating, losing power, or even stalling. This could make the vehicle more difficult to drive and increase the risk of an accident or injury.
Models that have been affected
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the recall affects certain 2022-2025 Acura MDX Type-S, 2023-2025 Honda Pilot, and 2021-2025 Acura TLX Type-S vehicles. Also Read : US Space Force gears up for record 156 launches from Florida’s Space Coast in 2025

Second recall in less than six months
This is the second major Honda recall in less than six months. In October 2024, the company recalled around 1.7 million 2022-2025 Acura and Honda vehicles in the US due to a steering issue. In a release, the company had then said that the problem stemmed from a manufacturing defect in the steering gearbox, where exposure to heat and moisture caused internal components to expand, affecting lubrication. In addition, excessive pressure in the system led to increased friction, which would result in unusual steering noises, difficulty in turning, and even a sudden loss of steering control —heightening the risk of accidents.
