'Home Alone' actor Devin Ratray under investigation for alleged rape

American actor Devin Ratray, who starred as Buzz McCallister in "Home Alone" series, is accused of sexually assaulting Lisa Smith five years ago at his Manhattan residence. Smith alleged that the actor intoxicated her before abusing her physically. Soon after the alleged incident, she reported it to the police. Ratray informed the publication that he did not have sex with Smith and refuted all claims against him, calling himself 'impotent'.

After his role in the "Home Alone" film series, Devin Ratray appeared in a few films, namely "Blue Rain," 'Nebraska', and 'Kimi'.

Ratray was held on charges of domestic abuse last year after reportedly attempting to choke his ex-girlfriend in a different incident. Later, after submitting a not guilty plea, he was freed on $25,000 bail.


Smith's case was mistakenly dropped
After filing the complaint, there was no update regarding the case investigation. Smith questioned why her case was not being looked into after his detention in December.

As per reports, the police mistakenly believed that Smith didn't want to charge Ratray, so the case was closed. Smith expressed her "devastation" to the media outlet about the delay in looking into her claim.



However, currently, she is in touch with the investigators. She revealed to the publication that a prosecutor recently looked into her text and phone records and made contact with potential witnesses.

Smith described the day she was raped
Smith recalled the alleged attack on the night of September 21, 2017, when she went out for drinks with Ratray, her brother, and another friend. She later left with Ratray for his home. Smith claims that Ratray made sure to make her drink from that specific glass and made her drink a drugged beverage. She later experienced sexual abuse.

She recalled waking up and being motionless. She couldn't fully open her eyes, but she could hear and feel everything that was going on around her. She said she was lying on the couch, and the other two had already left.

Officials claim that the Manhattan District Attorney's Office takes sexual abuse seriously and is always available for assistance. The survivor is in contact with prosecutors and counselors from the office's Sex Crimes Unit.
