Hollywood legend Harrison Ford turns 80: Take a look at actor's memorable journey on silver screen

If you are familiar with the Hollywood movie series 'Star Wars' and 'Indiana Jones', you must be acquainted with this famous actor, who has worked in the industry for over five decades. We are talking about Harrison Ford, who turned 80 on July 13. Born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1942, the actor shot to fame after playing the role of Han Solo in the classic space opera movie 'Star Wars' in 1977, followed by four successful sequels in the next four decades.

Before we got acqauinted with Daniel Craig, Tom Cruise, Vin Diesel or Robert Downey Junior, who have worked in high-octane action movies, we had the likes of Harrison Ford. One of the highest-grossing actors of all time, Harrison Ford has played some of the long-lasting characters in American cinema history.

The actor is popularly known for portraying the titular role in the Indiana Jones franchise, beginning with the movie 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' in 1981. Harrison Ford also gained worldwide fame through movies like Blade Runner, Patriot Games, Mosquito Coast, Air Force One and Fugitive and Witness, for which he was nominated for the Academy and Golden Globe Awards. Besides, the actor was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for his role in The Mosquito Coast, Sabrina and Fugitive.


And at 80, it seems the actor is in no mood to step down as he will be reprising his role for the fifth time in the Indiana Jones series. He was last seen in Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015 and Blade Runner in 2049, which released in 2017. Ford married thrice and has four biological children and one adopted child.
