However, there is often uncertainty about the exact date of Holi and whether Holika Dahan and Rangwali Holi will be held simultaneously.


The ceremonial bonfire known as Holika Dahan, which is lit the night before Rangwali Holi, symbolizes the triumph of good over evil.

According to Drik Panchang, Hindu scriptures state that Holika Dahan, also called Holika Deepak or Chhoti Holi, should be performed during Purnimasi Tithi, which begins after sunset, and during Pradosh Kaal.

The first half of Purnima Tithi is dominated by Bhadra, and when Bhadra is in control, all good work should be avoided.

Holi falls on March 14 this year due to Bhadra Kaal on March 13. This means Holika Dahan is on March 13.
