The first-ever teaser video for the highly anticipated season 2 of the 1993 movie Hocus Pocus was released on Tuesday. The movie will debut on Disney's streaming service, Disney+, on September 30. In this Anne Fletcher-directed Walt Disney Pictures movie, the infamous trio of witches are unintentionally brought back to life by burning the deadly Black Flame Candle as a "birthday ritual" 29 years after the incident of 1993's Hocus Pocus. Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy's characters Winifred, Sarah, and Mary should now thank their lucky stars. The iconic trio is back again to blend magic with a perfect mix of comedy and horror. They are now ready to steal the souls of the youth in Salem, Massachusetts, to achieve their everlasting youth!
The two teenagers who call the Sanderson Sisters back into existence are Belissa Escobedo from American Horror Stories and Whitney Peak from Gossip Girl, as seen in that clip. The last teen that teams up alongside Peak & Escobedo's characters to fight the Sanderson Sisters is played by Lilia Buckingham. According to the press release, the film also stars Froylan Gutierrez (Teen Wolf), Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso), and Doug Jones (The Shape of Water). The official teaser also featured new characters such as Sam Richardson and Tony Hale, as well as the mayor of Salem.
Witnessing the long-awaited live-action sequel to the enduring Halloween classic will be a treat, which welcomes the wonderfully evil Sanderson sisters back for hilarious chaos!
