Kamala Harris, the vice president, aspired to be the first South Asian president and the first woman president. However, according to ABC News, former President Donald Trump will win the White House, surpassing the crucial 270 electoral college votes required to do so.

The outcome made Trump just the second president to win non-consecutive terms, joining former President Grover Cleveland, who won the 1884 and 1892 elections to become the 22nd and 24th president, respectively.

Trump is also the first president to be elected after being found guilty of a crime, as evidenced by his return to the White House. Trump rose up from the ashes to regain the presidency in what ABC News contributor Mark Updegrove referred to as the most spectacular comeback in the history of the country.
