Here is why Elon Musk wants Disney to fire Bob Iger

Elon Musk, the owner of X is upset with the Disney CEO Bob Iger as the multimillionaire company pulled off advertisements from the social media platform. Musk is constantly asking Bob to be fired and bullying him on his platform X. Disney has not...

The X owner and billionaire Elon Musk went on a rant against Disney CEO Bob Iger on Thursday, blasting Iger for the Magic Kingdom's decision to pull advertisements from his endangered social media platform and declaring that Iger should be fired.

"He should be fired immediately," Musk wrote on the platform formerly known as Twitter about Iger.

He continued by saying that Walt Disney is turning in its grave over what Bob has done to this company.

Disney representatives did not immediately respond to all the comments by Musk. However, Iger is widely credited with transforming Disney into an entertainment behemoth through a series of well-executed acquisitions including Star Wars, Marvel Studios, and Pixar — during his first tenure as CEO.

Disney, along with a slew of other major corporations, pulled their advertising from X last month after Musk endorsed an antisemitic conspiracy theory popular among White supremacists.

Musk tacitly apologized for the post last week after a flurry of companies cut ties with X, but he also sent a profanity-laced message to companies that refuse to buy ads on his social media platform.

"Go f**k yourself," Musk told the fleeing brands on stage at The New York Times DealBook Summit.

Musk singled out Iger at the summit, ranting against the Disney CEO after he explained earlier in the day that the entertainment conglomerate had decided to stop advertising on X because of Musk.

"We just felt that the association with… Elon Musk and X was not necessarily a positive one for us," Iger said at the time.

The decision to remove advertisements coincided with a larger trend on the social media website. Musk has made a number of decisions since taking over in late 2022 that have contributed to an increase in hate speech, misinformation, and conspiracy theories on the platform.

The lack of major advertising partners has cost X a fortune, as advertising accounts for the vast majority of its revenue. Musk himself admitted at the DealBook Summit that his company's current lack of major advertisers will almost certainly lead to its demise.
