Chicago chiropractor arrested: A chiropractor from Chicago’s western suburbs has been charged with multiple child pornography and illegal recording counts after allegedly secretly videotaping his patients, including minors, while they were unclothed.

Chiropractor David Hanson, 43, who operated Hanson Family Chiropractic in Kane County, was arrested and charged on Thursday, according to the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office. Hanson faces multiple felony counts, including five counts of producing child pornography, three of disseminating, and two of possessing it, as reported by CBS.

He also faces a charge of making an unauthorized video recording of a minor “through or under the clothes.”

Victims at Hanson Family Chiropractic mostly female, prosecutors say

Prosecutors said Hanson made video recordings of more than 180 of his patients when they were naked. The victims were mostly female and ranged in age from young children to adults, authorities said.

According to prosecutors, Hanson used hidden cameras surreptitiously placed throughout his Hanson Family Chiropractic office to make the recordings without patients’ knowledge or consent.

Separate from the recordings prosecutors said he made, Hanson was also found to have possessed and disseminated multiple videos containing child sex abuse material, prosecutors said.

Who is David Hanson, Hanson Family chiropractic Doctor?

David Hanson is a chiropractor from Batavia, Illinois, and the founder of Hanson Family Chiropractic. Before entering the healthcare field, Hanson worked in the business world but later decided to pursue a more hands-on career focused on helping others. Inspired by his own positive experience with chiropractic care, he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the National University of Health Sciences.

Hanson also pursued advanced training, including certification in the Webster Technique for pregnant women and Pediatric Certification for children.

According to the clinic’s webpage, a lifelong Batavia resident, Dr. Hanson grew up in the area, attended Aurora Christian High School, and later settled there with his wife, Kristen, and their two sons. Outside of work, he was known for his involvement in local community life and outdoor family activities.
