The tribute was given, during the All-Star Game at Atlanta’s Truist Park, using projection mapping and pyrotechnics to bring the historic April 8, 1974 moment back to life.

After the sixth inning, the stadium lights dimmed and fans lit up the night with their phone flashlights. A visual recreation of Aaron’s record-breaking homer, which surpassed Babe Ruth’s long-standing mark of 714, was projected onto the infield. A fireball launched from home plate symbolized the monumental blast, while Aaron’s widow, Billye Aaron, waved to the cheering crowd of 41,702.
Adding to the tribute, National League players wore batting practice jerseys with Aaron’s iconic No. 44.
Aaron, who passed away in 2021, remains one of the most revered figures in baseball history. A 25-time All-Star and Hall of Famer, he still holds records for RBIs (2,297), extra-base hits (1,477), and total bases (6,856). His career total of 755 home runs stood as the MLB record until 2007.
Aaron’s enduring impact was felt deeply on Tuesday - a powerful reminder of the man who once chased and caught history.
