The private chats between Robinson and his roommate, who is also his romantic partner, were revealed in the charging documents that were filed on Tuesday (September 16, 2025) by the Utah County attorney, Jeff Gray. Responding to his roommate’s question about why he killed Kirk, Robinson said that he had had enough of his hatred, and some of the hate cannot be negotiated out. He also revealed to his roommate that he was going to attempt to retrieve his rifle again.
“I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out. If I am able to grab my rifle unseen, I will have left no evidence. Going to attempt to retrieve it again, hopefully they have moved on. I haven’t seen anything about them finding it,” he said, according to the chats released in the documents.
'I’m going to turn myself in': Robinson tells his roommate in private chat
Expressing concern for his roommate in the chat, Robinson told him that he is going to turn himself in. “Im gonna turn myself in willingly; one of my neighbors here is a deputy for the sheriff,” he said. “You are all I worry about love,” he added. Robinson also asked his roommate to stay silent and avoid interaction with the media.
